Who this therapy is for
This support is for adults in Virginia recovering from narcissistic and emotional abuse. You may still be in a difficult relationship, be finding your footing after leaving, or be making sense of experiences with a partner or family member. You do not need to diagnose another person or have a perfect explanation of what happened before asking for help.
Therapy gives you room to talk honestly about the relationship and its effect on your life. We can start with what feels hardest today and work toward goals that reflect your needs, choices, and circumstances.
Signs you might benefit from support
- Self-doubt that makes ordinary decisions feel difficult.
- Walking on eggshells and anticipating someone else’s reactions.
- Anxiety before, during, or after contact with a partner or family member.
- Trauma bonding, including feeling drawn back to a relationship that has hurt you.
- Difficulty trusting yourself, your feelings, or your memory of events.
You may recognize one of these experiences or several. Together, we can explore what is happening without judgment, reduce self-blame, and practice boundaries that feel realistic in your life.
How online therapy works in Virginia
Sessions take place online via secure video. Choose a private space where you can speak freely, with a reliable internet connection and a device that supports video. There is no office visit or commute.
You must be physically located in Virginia at the time of each session. If travel will take you outside the state, discuss it with Jami before your appointment so you can plan appropriately.
The free 15-minute consultation is a chance to share a little about what brings you here, ask practical questions, and decide whether Jami’s approach feels like a fit. You do not have to tell your whole story during that first conversation.
Jami’s approach and licenses
Jami’s approach is warm, direct, and collaborative. She draws from trauma-informed therapy, CBT, and somatic approaches when they fit the client and the work. Sessions can help you understand relationship patterns, find tools for anxiety and emotional regulation, and reconnect with your own judgment.
There is no pressure to make a quick decision about a relationship or share more than you are ready to discuss. You remain involved in choosing the goals and pace of your therapy.
Jami’s licenses are LPC (Virginia #0701014656) and LMHC (Florida #MH19185). Her Virginia credential is Licensed Professional Counselor. Read more about Jami and her approach.
