When home doesn't feel like a break
Maybe the hardest relationship in your life is with a partner, an ex you co-parent with, or a parent who still knows exactly what to say to unsettle you. You might brace before a text comes through, soften every request, or explain yourself over and over and still feel misunderstood. By the end of the day, you may feel tired in a way that sleep doesn't fix.
Those reactions make sense when someone has repeatedly dismissed your feelings or rewritten what happened. In therapy, you can slow down, look at the pattern with fresh eyes, and start trusting your own read on things again. Read more about narcissistic abuse recovery therapy in Virginia.
Co-parenting and family stress
Ongoing contact with someone who hurt you brings its own kind of strain. A schedule change, a holiday plan, or a short message can leave you unsettled for hours. Sessions can help you notice what gets stirred up, calm your body after hard exchanges, and practice clear, brief boundaries that protect your energy.
This is emotional support only. Jami doesn't give legal advice or custody recommendations; those questions belong with a qualified legal professional.
Anxiety and low mood
Anxiety can look like overplanning, lying awake running through tomorrow, or feeling on guard even when nothing is wrong. Depression can feel like heaviness, numbness, or losing interest in things that used to matter. Jami treats both, whether they are connected to a relationship or not, and you can decide together what to focus on first.
Online sessions across Fairfax and Fairfax Station
All sessions take place by secure video. There is no Fairfax office and there are no in-person appointments, so there's no extra trip across town or parking to find. A private room at home works well, and so does a parked car somewhere safe and private, as long as you aren't driving.
Because Jami is licensed in Virginia, you need to be physically in Virginia during each session. If your work takes you into DC or Maryland, plan sessions for times you are home or somewhere else in Virginia.
Serving Fairfax and nearby communities
Online sessions are available to adults in the City of Fairfax, Fairfax Station, Burke, Clifton, Fair Lakes, and Fairfax Corner, and in nearby Vienna and Oakton and Reston, as well as anywhere else in Virginia.
Fees
Sessions are $175 each, self-pay. If you have out-of-network benefits, Jami can give you a superbill to submit to your insurer; reimbursement depends on your plan. Jami is also in network with UnitedHealthcare, Cigna, and Aetna, and coverage varies by plan. You can ask about fees and insurance during your free consultation.
